Dancers' Names: Dimitri Savalas & Penelope Cromwell-Savalas
About Dimitri
Dimitri and his brother are fairly close, as they immigrated to the U.S. at a very young age and grew up together in this new country. Dimitri found the love of his life at the age of 18 and married very young at the age of 20. However, 5 years into the marriage Dimitri's wife died suddenly of pneumonia during a very cold winter, leaving Dimitri with his 3 and 1 year old children. Dimitri is now 29 years old, and since the death of his wife, has continued as single father/NYC bachelor. He is still able to support his children though, as he struggled for years attaining a PhD in American Literature, and now is the dean of the English department at Cooper Union.
About Penelope
I was born in New York City to a social elite family originally from London, England and attended the Trinity School in New York . I met my husband, Filippo Savalas while at a social gathering in my early teens. We fell in love instantly, but because of his Greek background, my family disapproved of the relationship and disowned me before their marriage. Because of this, I hardly have any money of my own and came to rely on my husband, Filippo to provide for me. Unfortunately, Filippo and I lost almost everything in the stock market crash. We soon came to rely on Filippo's brother, Dimitri Savalas who still remained financially stable. Once Filipo and I lost our money we moved in with Dimitri and his 2 children, and an immediate intimate connection was made between me and Dimitri. I have tried to keep this secrete from Filippo for several months. In order to do so, Dimitri (the more skilled performer of the 2 brothers) and I travel the country dancing in marathons to "earn money" but really to enjoy time together while Dimitri is back in New York. I am a little worried about this particular marathon in Atlantic City, as it is so close to Manhattan and I might see someone from my numerous social circles. Therefore, Dimitri and I try to keep our relationship somewhat quiet during this particular marathon. There is no doubt, though, that we fancy each other.
The roles of Dimitri Savalas and Penelope Cromwel-Savalas will be played by Kapil Dass and Kaelyn Langer.
