Dancers' Names: Heidi & Sven Swenson
About Heidi & Sven
Heidi Swenson has joined her father Sven in the dance competition at the Steel Pier after the tragic death of her mother Olga who passed away recently. Olga suffered from a heart attack while practicing with Sven for the marathon. Heidi, their only child, immediately agreed to step in to help realize her father's dream. The Swensons own a small farm in Cambridge, Minnesota that is mortgaged to the hilt and is about to be foreclosed. This is Sven's first marathon but Heidi is an accomplished dancer with a long list of local marathons around her hometown in Minnesota. They came to Atlantic City by third class railroad car eating sandwiches they made before leaving home and talking about their excitement for the marathon. They do not know anyone else at the competition or anywhere else in the East as this is the first time either of them have been outside of Minnesota. They are in desperate need of winning the $2,000 cash prize to pay off the back mortgage and taxes on their farm.
The roles of Heidi and Sven Swenson will be played by Heather Knauf and David Stimson.
