Dancers' Names: Victoria & Thurston Richard Winston III

About Victoria & Thurston

The story of Thurston Richard Winston III and Victoria Winston. Thurston and Victoria are cousins who used to play and dance together as they were growing up in rural Vermont. As cousins (Thurston's and Victoria's dads are brothers) they try their best to get along. However, they often rub each other the wrong way leading to tiffs and arguments. Thurston and Victoria, in the midst of this great depression, are incredibly wealthy. Unlike the rest of the country however, this wealth that they have acquired is actually fairly new wealth; as a part of the the New Deal, FDR's cabinet contracted with their family to use the marble in their family's land to build the Supreme Court house! They suddenly found themselves coming into a lot of money! They left their small hometown and headed to New York City. Thurston and Victoria, coming from humble beginnings themselves are not completely comfortable with their new found wealth (Thurston actually added "the third" on to his name to make him sound more important!) They do find themselves identifying more with those who are just scraping by rather than the well-to-do NYC socialites that they are now associated with. They do not want anyone in the dance competition to know that they are actually loaded! The couple is much more comfortable intermingling with the common folk which is why they decided to join the dance competition...that and they love to dance their shoes off, just as they did when they were growing up!As soon as they read about the dance marathon, they hopped right onto the first Chinatown Bus from New York City! If they do end up winning the marathon (and they will try their best to do so!) they plan on giving the $2,000 away to someone who really needs it.

The roles of Victoria & Thurston Richard Winston III will be played by Joe Bickweat and Tina Evans.
