The year is 1933. The United States is in the middle of The Depression. People from all walks of life have descended on Atlantic City's Steel Pier to participate in the 1933 Atlantic City Dance Marathon in the glorious Marine Ballroom. The dance floor is filled with dozens of confident couples who are determined to win the $2000 cash prize.
